FactoryTalk Linx Data Bridge by Rockwell Automation, Inc. is a service for moving and transforming real-time data between controllers and software within the FactoryTalk environment. It lets you map tags from one source to another—controller to controller, controller to HMI/SCADA, or between FactoryTalk Live Data and other data sources—without adding ladder logic. Engineers can define one-to-one or many-to-one tag links, apply scaling and basic type conversion, and choose when updates occur (continuous, periodic, or on value change) to manage network load.
Built on the FactoryTalk Linx communications engine, it provides high-performance, native access to Allen‑Bradley Logix controllers and integrates with FactoryTalk Security, diagnostics, and centralized administration. When used with FactoryTalk Linx Gateway, it can also bridge data to and from OPC-based clients and servers, helping connect Rockwell Automation systems with third-party applications.
Typical uses include sharing recipes and setpoints across machines, exchanging production counts or interlocks between cells, and concentrating plant-floor data for visualization, analytics, or historians—all without custom controller code. The result is faster integration, simplified maintenance, and more reliable data flow across your control and information systems.
